How do we do it?
Our approach to care
At Egerton Physiotherapy, we aim to use a wide holistic approach to your care. We use a combination of physiotherapy, personal training, and nutritional services. In our physiotherapy service, we genuinely care about you becoming pain and injury free and getting you back to doing what you enjoy. Our one-to-one sessions are bespoke and are led by your needs and goals. We ensure to use up-to-date, evidence based practice, and constantly strive to improve to get our clients back on their feet. We place a heavy focus on long-term results and not just quick fixes. We put emphasis on education and self-management during your appointments with us. Leaving your first appointment, you will know exactly what is going on and what you need to do to fully resolve or manage your issue.

What will my appointment look like?
After greeting you and sitting down, we firstly take a full subjective history from you about your issue. This allows us to filter down what could be going on and causing your issue. Expect to be asked the following questions:
- When did this issue start?
- How did this issue come up?
- What does the pain feel like?
- What makes the pain feel better / worse?
After gathering all of the information from you that we need, we would then move on to the objective assessment and perform tests based on what we think is going on to confirm a diagnosis. This would include assessing your joint range of motion, strength and function at and around the affected area. We may perform some special joint related tests to further help us hone in on a diagnosis for you.

After we have gathered all of this information, we will have a very good idea what is going on and will be able to give you a diagnosis. This is when we will provide you with everything you need to know about your diagnosis, and how to manage and resolve it.
After listening to your experience, we will give you all the information and education you need about the issue at hand, we would then move on to make a bespoke rehab plan that is heavily focused on your goals. You will be guided through your rehab thoroughly in the gym space in the practice. This will allow you to fully understand your rehab plan and how to progress over time.

You will be provided with this rehab plan through Physiapp (which we can set up with you) and/or through an emailed PDF.
After your rehab plan has been created, demonstrated, and prescribed, we would then finish your treatment with some manual therapy so you can leave your appointment with some short-term relief. Our manual therapy ranges from soft tissue massage, joint mobilisations, and muscle energy techniques.
